3, 2, 1...LAUNCH!

Hi everyone! Thank you SO much for stopping by and being a part of my launch. FINALLY!!!

I've been writing for a few months now, mostly testing the waters to see if blogging is the right move for me. Apparently it is cause I'm still here and still loving it.

AND I just got the job of my dreams which involves, among other things, blogging.

It's been an amazing process so far, and despite a few road bumps it continues to evolve as I do.

In any given post you might find a little sassiness, a lot of heart and soul, a small side of cheese, some dirty language (and/or thoughts), a bit of emotion (aka insanity), some amusement, and hopefully, a lot of empowerment...

But above all else, you'll find that every post you read will be real.

This blog is technically about me and my life but mostly I use myself as an example for what's possible for you and your life.

It's not always easy out there in the world so my intention with every post is to inspire and be inspired.

I've already grown leaps and bounds from where I was when I started and it's only been a few months.

So take a look around, explore the terrain and get a sense for what you'll find here. There's something for everyone and there's so much more to come.

Check out the "labels" or the monthly archives to the right.

If you like what you see, SUBSCRIBE! and spread the love by sharing littlemissmojo.com with your world of people. You can also receive posts via email.

From the bottom of my heart and soul, I thank all the amazing people who continue to show me incredible love and support.

You know who you are and I f-ing love you.

Have a great weekend!

Stalker-azzi!

Happy Monday, hope your weekend was as enjoyable as mine. Here's a quick sum up of the last few days...

-Finally got my new computer from Apple. It's teeny and tiny and I love it!

-Got last minute tickets to Paul McCartney at Yankee Stadium friday night...incredible! There were ten of us in all, a random mix of great people. I didn't know half the songs but I loved them all. It was a great summer night.

-Got last minute tickets to Book Of Mormon Saturday night, and as if that wasn't exciting enough, Oprah was there! As you may already know, if there was one celebrity I'd sell my soul to meet, it would be Lady O.

I knew ahead of time she would be there. My sister got me the tickets with that in mind. She tried a few months ago to get me tickets to one of the last shows but Oprah shortened her shooting lineup and it didn't happen. So this was the next best thing.

I was hoping there would be some magical moment where I'd get to meet her...even if it was in the bathroom. She'd be in the next stall, run out of paper and I'd come to the rescue by passing some of mine.

She'd be grateful, compliment my shoes, I'd tell her how she changed my life and then we'd become best friends forever!

It didn't happen but when we did happen to see her walking out, I strategically positioned myself next to her SUV. The only thing between me and Miss Winfrey was her big bad bodyguard. I know, I'm officially a stalker-azzi. Her head was turned the other way, but I'm pretty sure she heard me when I said "I love you Oprah." Wouldn't be surprised if my little head ends up in an US Weekly pic, peaking out behind her security detail.

(Um...after typing the line above I went to google images looking for pics of her at the show and found exactly what I envisioned! Yup, that's me all in black looking like a giddy little schoolgirl. Classic!)

The show was hysterical. Such a talented cast. Love em or hate em, those south park guys are brilliant! I felt really lucky considering tickets are sold out for months.

We literally laughed the entire time and it was quite the bonus to know Oprah was only four rows away laughing along with us.

The dog ate my homework!

As I prepared yesterday for today's re-launch, I noticed something strange happening with my mac.

The screen started flashing like a strobe light. Thought I was at a rave, circa 1995. The only thing missing was glo sticks.

I ran to the apple store thinking it was a side effect of a long needed battery replacement.

Instead, I was told the entire display needed to be replaced.

Three hours and a $2K credit card charge later, I was the proud owner of a shiny new Macbook Air.

Not what I expected but I'm rolling with it.

It's a huge investment but it's my lifeline. And I'm banking on my new company taking off with flying colors.

I'll probably get the display fixed on my current laptop anyway cause it's otherwise in great shape.

Reminds me of the car...old, cranky and unwilling to reverse, but still a ton of life left.

Takes a full week if they send it to Apple and I couldn't afford to be without a computer that long.

It already feels like an eternity and it's only been 24 hours.

In truth I've been loathing my macbook pro anyway because it's so damn heavy and I literally have knots in my shoulder from lugging it around.

The Air is super lightweight so I can take it everywhere and be able to write without an issue.

Also got my new iPhone a few days ago, so at this point I'd say Apple should do the right thing and pick up my health insurance bill.

So, unfortunately I was unable to finish the necessary prep work to launch today. My sincere apologies.

Looking forward to that early next week...finally!

Have an amazing weekend...

Come hell or high water!

So I now have this amazing job and it's sucking up a lot of time and energy. My first thought was that I wouldn't be able to do this blog anymore.

Then I remembered the way I felt after getting the job...like anything is possible.

I love my work so far and I plan on having it open more doors for me, not close them.

Where there's a will there's a way, and although it will be challenging, I intend on making it work.

So I'm going to keep blogging but I'm likely to do it less often depending on my schedule. The posts will likely be shorter and sweeter. Or maybe I'll just figure out a better system.

AND I will officially launch this Friday the 15th, even though things are still not ready.

Will they ever be? A good question to ask with anything you've been waiting on.

I'll post my blog link on my facebook page and ask you all to blast it out to anyone and everyone you think might want some MOJO in their lives.

With all the great experience I'll be getting through work, this whole operation will be running like a machine in no time.

We're still looking for office space and creating the website. Can't wait to share that with you.

Hopefully by Wednesday you'll get to see my very first blog for the company. I love it. I also should know where the office will be and what area I'll likely be moving to.

Crazy. Crazy good!

Happy 4th of July!!!

The last few days have been a whirlwind. The most amazing things have been happening.

I didn't post Friday because I was busy getting a job!!!

Yup, you are looking at the Director of Corporate Communications for Charideem, Inc., an online startup company that brings together corporate sponsors, charities & non-profits, and the public.

There are so many layers to what they're doing but the primary goal is to provide savings through donations and to act as a social networking platform so people can connect and share their do-gooding.

In the vein of Groupon and Living Social for example, they'll have special offers donated by socially responsible corporations and retailers that will then be offered to consumers at a discounted rate.

The major difference though is that 75% of the proceeds will go directly to charity!

So the consumers get a great incentive, the corporate sponsors get business and positive exposure, and the charities get to continue their missions and make positive change possible.

It's truly a win-win for all and I'm so proud, honored and psyched to be part of it. It's been so awesome to get in on the ground level and know I'm really having an impact.

It's so new the web site isn't fully functioning yet. We're going to look at office space this week.

So what will I be doing? Well, a lot from what I understand. Firstly, I'm responsible for all the copy content...blog, website, marketing campaigns, social media, press releases, etc.

I'm also the point person for publicity at the moment, which is so weird considering I have zero experience in that department.

Their attitude is...run with it! You're the right person for the job so we're not worried about anything else.

Sweet!

They've allowed me a ton of creative freedom along with all the responsibility. It's been a collaborative environment so far and I have so many ideas to help move it forward. I've never been so inspired by a job in my life.

The best part is that I know I manifested this for myself. I could've never imagined this specific job or doing something corporate.

I did know I wanted to be paid well to do what I love and that I centered my intentions, language and action around that.

And I also wanted the work to be meaningful. I wanted a way to help people and now my job is directly related to that.

Take a look at my posts from just a few weeks ago...it's almost scary how what I wrote is exactly what I got. Amazing.

Decisions, decisions: part I
Decisions, decisions: Part II

Hmm, next I'll take that gorgeous, hilarious, one-in-a-million man who falls madly in love with me....any day now.

Safe and Happy 4th!

Prepare to Launch!

It's been a great few weeks and there are some promising developments on the horizon.

Firstly, this blog...I found an incredible human being named Xenia who agreed to help me with the technical aspects of maintaining littlemissmojo.com.

I posted an ad on Craigslist- the only site I probably spend more time on than this one- and she came to my rescue.

Not only does she know her shit, she offered to help me on the house!!! Why? "That's how I roll," she said. Sounds like the coolest chick ever.

She's starting her own web development company and in all her spare time, she's helping me, a complete stranger, for FREE! These people really exist. Amazing.

SO, we are working on bringing all the magic to fruition so this blog can be all it's meant to be.

I'm aiming for July 13th for the big day. I'll keep you posted. I'll also ask you to share it with anyone and everyone you know.

Also on the horizon...some awesome job prospects. After coming close and losing out on a commercial writing position last week, it was really nice to bounce back with another potential offer.

I'll share more when it becomes a reality. Also made a new friend who showed interest in my commercial work, so we'll see where that take me.

All good things! Hoping the same is true for you. Have a great Wednesday!!!

MOJO Monday!

A little inspiration for your Monday morning...

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us.

We ask ourselves, "who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?"
Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.

There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

SUMMER STAPLES

In honor of the first day of summer, I'd like to share a few of my favorite budget-friendly things...

TARGET (I affectionately pronounce it Tar-jay): Best store ever! I recently purchased the majority of my summer wardrobe there and I have no shame whatsoever.
Got great stuff that looks expensive but isn't...including a sexy summer dress for $17 and a pair of hot suede heels that were clearanced for under $7! Score!!!
The pros: Cute, trendy clothes and accessories, many lines now offered by top designers, at incredibly reasonable prices. I sound like an advertisement. You definitely have to sift through but it's beyond worth it.
The cons: It's like the price club...even if you go in for one or two things it's hard to walk out without a trunk full. You get what you pay for so don't expect it to last forever. Although, most of what I've gotten has lasted just as long as pricier purchases.

San Pellegrino Limonata & Aranciata: Best summer drink! Combine a little (or a lot) Grey Goose, Ketel or even Patron with either the lemon (limonata) or orange (aranciata) for a crazy good cocktail.
The pros: Easy, delicious, refreshing, sparkling, intoxicating.
The cons: Easy, delicious, refreshing, sparkling...intoxicating. They go down REALLY quickly so don't say I didn't warn you.

Spray Tan: Ok, I've mentioned it a few times already and once again I have no shame. Yes, I use it and yes, I love it. If there was one thing I could change it would probably be my skin pigment. It is possible for me to tan (I use the word "tan" loosely), but I have to bake in the sun consistently for long periods of time.
The pros: For $10-$12, you can now spray it on yourself as opposed to paying $75 to have someone else do it at a salon. I use L'Oreal Sublime Bronze spray.
Some people prefer the cloth wipes but I think the spray is easier to apply evenly. It also doesn't rub off as easily as a spray from the salon. It lasts several days so just spray a few times a week and you're good to go. I also use the Jergens daily moisturizer in between.
The cons: Even with recent improvements, it can still have a slightly orange undertone. I guess I prefer that to being pasty white. Hopefully the day will come when "bronze" actually means bronze.

Coconut water: My mother discovered this one and I love it.
The pros: It's the best drink for hydration and I love the taste. It's super healthy...fat-free, cholesterol-free, low-calorie and rich in anti-oxidants. Apparently Madonna owns Vita Coco. If it's good enough for her, it's good enough for me. I also hear it's great for hangovers. Might wanna keep some by your bedside.
The cons: It aint cheap. Costs about $2-$3 for a juice box. Bet Target sells it for less. I wouldn't pound a case of it though...it can also be a natural diuretic. Thankfully I haven't had that problem.

Essie Nail Polish: My friends and fam will laugh when they read this. For years I refused to wear anything colorful. I strictly stuck to muted taupes and darker browns and purples. I finally stepped out of the box and now wear the brightest colors I can find. It's fun for the summer.
The pros: Tons of great colors. The polish is easy to apply so I can actually do it myself when I can't get to the salon or wanna save some cash. The colors last longer than most brands.
The cons: None really. They're typically $8 a bottle but it's worth it if you actually use it. My color of the moment is long stem roses.

LBD: Not little black dress, LONG black dress.
Got mine last year for $20 (forgot where...probably Target!) and all but lived in it on my Europe trip.
Pros: Great for day or night. Super comfortable. Wear with flats, heels, a jacket, over a bathingsuit, etc., etc.
Cons: None.

Happy happy summer!

Photo Friday!

It's a bit gloomy out there today in NYC, so I figured it was a good time to share some colorful pics from my European travel excursion last year.

My first stop was Barcelona, a city I'd dreamed of visiting for years. One of my favorite discoveries was La Boqueria, an incredible market in the heart of the city.

It's a magical place where photographers stroll the aisles with cameras fit for stalking. Only they're not snapping celebrities, they're snapping fruit.

So much fun to walk around, snap pics and eat!

Food destinations are my favorite. LOVE sampling new things! Such a memorable part of the travel experience.

Everything was so beautifully presented. I wanted to try and buy EVERYTHING!!!

But I was on a backpacker's budget, so I took pictures instead. The shop owners loved that.

I did try some chocolate, one of those fresh juice drinks and some fruit. On the last day I had the sweetest dates I've ever tasted in my life. They practically melted in my mouth. Still dreaming of them!!!

How insane are these lollipops? Like something out of Willy Wonka.

Can't even tell you what was in those jars. Did not sample that.

There was literally a stand for every food group.

So purdy!

Hope you enjoyed my pics. For more fun photos, click here.

Have a yummy, colorful weekend!

It's a miracle!

I SOLD THE CAR! You know, the one that didn't reverse. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY!!!

Finally some sunshine after the shit-storm that plagued me on the road recently.

A mechanic from Long Island saw my ad on Craigslist and made his way out to Staten Island this weekend with cash in hand.

His philosophy: When I see cars with transmission problems I'm on 'em like white on rice.

His negotiating style: So, you're pretty firm on the price huh?...Ok.

I couldn't have asked for a better transaction. I loved that he knew exactly what he was getting.

I didn't have to try and sell him or pretend I knew anything about cars. And it was completely guilt free.

I can't believe I got the full asking price!

I'd been practically laughed at when it came to the price. I was told I'd NEVER get what I was asking. Even I wasn't expecting to get it.

Two people offered me less than half of what I sold it for. My sister thought I should junk it.

Instead I invested in a great interior/exterior detail. It looked so shiny and new.

All there was left to do was pray. Low and behold miracles really do happen.

I had to work really hard to contain myself during the transaction. Played it very cool.

But as soon as they were out the door I jumped up and down like a giddy school girl. Such a relief.

Next up...an apartment! A job would be good too.
